Inspirational blogs:

 1. The Burning House: http://theburninghouse.com/
This blog is very similar to my own as if focuses on the value of peoples most precious possessions. The simple lay out allows all focus to be directed on the images, also the sans serif font does not confuse the viewers eye unnecessarily. I do feel my blog has an added depth as it also involves images of favourite places not just positions. Also I would like to have a photo of each individual who contributes to the blog.

2. Blog Of The Dead: http://zombiebloggers.blogspot.com/
Zombies are an element of my blog and so I felt it necessary to research zombie related blogs. “Blog of the dead” is a typical example of these. The blog is simple and easy to digest. However the large blocks of text discourages the viewer to engage with the blog. As well as this the images used are far too small and seemed to be made even smaller by the large amounts of text that surround them. Unsurprisingly the majority of the blogs that mention zombies are about monsters or apocalyptic situations. This made me realise that although my blog uses the idea of zombies they are not the focus. They  are simply the medium used to encourage the contributors to think of their most valued positions and places.

3. T.M.R.T My Favourite Place: http://www.tmtrfavorite.blogspot.com/
This blog is about the favourite places of people who have travelled the Texas Mountain Trail Region. I found this blog helpful as it relies on user submitted photos. When my blog achieves some level of public interest I wish to make it possible for readers to contribute their own photos. The formatting of the images and text could be improved. However the high standard of the submitted photos went a long way to make up for this.

4. Things Organised Neatly: http://thingsorganizedneatly.tumblr.com/
Although this blog has a very different focus than my own, its layout and aesthetic is a stryle that I very much want to emulate. Its order and simplicity are very pleasing to the eye and encourage the viewer to scroll down and view the next page. This is increased by the brightness of the background and use of simple fonts.

5. A Thousand Faces: http://thousandfaces.tumblr.com/
This blog is about a person photographing the faces of many people in their life. Personally I find a simple portrait fascinating and part of the reason I want to do this blog is to see if that fascination is increased when juxtaposed with images of possessions and places. This blog appeals to my fascination with the humble portrait. Like most of the other blogs I have studied this is simple, bright and pleasing to read. The images are large enough to satisfy the viewer and in the correct ratio to the text.
